Many thanks to tacosandbeer for this special bottle!
A - Dark brown / black pour with a dense, thick, creamy caramel colored ring.
S - Chocolate, coffee, and cognac.
T - Black licorice, dark fruit, coffee, chocolate fudge char, alcohol, and light bitterness, and some light oak. Pronounced warming on the way down.
M - Thick and silky mouthfeel.
O - A dessert cognac-like beer that tastes like a slice of heaven.

Pours jet black, nice thin tan head, mild retention. The smell is the shining star here, very bold, sweet dark fruity, boozy, subtle licorice. The taste is roasty, char, bitter chocolate. The feel is a bit on the thinner side but still hits the mark. Overall a very good (as expected) imperial stout! Thanks to JZeilinger for sharing this one!

Viscous jet with steady taupe froth; fig, coffee, plum pastry, and a thread of port on the nose; sticky raisin bun, espresso truffle and sugar plum, coffee comeback to end with little linger; clean, medium to full, smooth and a bit sticky.

2022 version. Listed at 13%.
So smooth! The ABV is totally buried.
Can’t say I’d pick up the cognac barrel but there’s a bonbon depth + richness here.
All the koffee klatch treatiness but with a drinkability and lightness - this is not cloying pastry stout.
Reputationof this series is deserved.
Waited a while to find a Stormaktsporter + it was worth it; I’d love to revisit.
