The colour is pale amber (8 EBC), the liquid clear. The two finger head is pale yellow. Lots of lacing occurs.

The smell is clean and bitter. Light sweet notes, some alcohol. Hints of caramel.

The flavours are clean. Sweet, like a modern octoberfest beer is supposed to be, but with more bitterness than usual, making it more balanced. Clean light flavours. Hints of caramel in the aftertaste. Balanced bitter flavours in the finish.

The carbonation is medium strong; the bubbles mild. The liquid is semi-smooth.

It is uncomplicated, but at the same time extremely clean and very well crafted. Just what the octoberfest brews needed: More of the same hops!

The beer is pale amber with an off-white head that settles a bit unevenly leaving good lacing with some curtains.

The smell is fresh and bitter, fruits, green apples, but also grapr-fruit and hard bread.

Starting with brown bread nuances, bitter oranges, red apples and grape-fruit peel.

Medium carbonation, small bubbles, soft and refreshing, a very long dry finish.

A very refreshing and multi-dimensional Märzen. The hops really lifts it.

A: The pour is hazy deep yellow with a small but compact white head that slowly sets into decent lacings.

S: Semi-sweet malt, grainy and grassy. Citric notes; oranges. Kind of bready.

T: Bready, dark and sweet. Light roasted malt, some caramell. Bitter hops are a bit stronger than usually for this style. Lots of citric hoppyness.

M: Great long bitter aftertaste. Body is medium and carbonation quite strong, but smooth.

O: In conclusion; a great Märzen with the best aftertaste ever.

Oppigårds Oktoberfestbier, ABV: 5.3%.
500 ml bottle, 25.90 SEK at Systembolaget.

A: The liquid is bright amber with a slight haze. The head is slightly off-white and foamy.

S: A fruity nose, with the fresh pine aroma so typical for Oppigårds, and sharp notes of oranges, mandarins, zest, spices and hard rye bread.

T: Hard rye bread - a lot of hard rye bread - with herbal hops, oranges, citrus peels, spices and some butter. The bitterness is medium, but fresh and edgy.

M: A truly refreshing feel, with medium-sized body, and a pleasant bitter finish.

O: A conventional Oktoberfestbier, with some extra spice, saying: Hey, I'm from Oppigårds! The result has got a nice touch of citrus and pine. It's not as big in flavour as their ales, perhaps, but just as good (and with higher gulpability). A nice surprise, this was.
