The brew is clouded brown with red tints, an off-white head with little lacing. Good curtains.
The smell starts sweet, milk chocolate, raisins, anisette and heather.
very malty, bread, oatmeal with raisins, hard fudge, fruity essences and acids.
Little carbonation, soft but sticky, a big body and a small dry quickly disappearing dryness.
Very malty, a bit short but promising for storage.

The colour is brown, the liquid clear. The low head slowly dissolves leaving no lacing.
The smell is sweet with distinct notes of toffee and caramel. Hints of bitterness and brown sugar. Some metal.
The taste is malty with more bitter flavours than expected. Some caramel and hints of dried flowers. The aftertaste is smooth with sweet notes of caramel and hints of aged strong wine. The aftertaste is quite short with a mild clean bitterness.
The carbonation is strong; small sharp bubbles. The liquid is mid-smooth with some stickiness.
An OK Scottish ale. A bit thin, perhaps.
