Solid tap list with outstanding food.

 

located in Gamla Stan, the old town...my first beer-related stop in Stockholm

I suppose this is a whisky bar, but with 16 swedish crafts on tap, there is pretty strong focus on craft beer as well.

atmosphere - quite dead on a Saturday afternoon while the streets outside were bustling. pretty modern interior, no real distinguishment

quality - high quality, very attentive pours and nice glassware

service - bartenders speak strong english and recommendations were certainly helpful

selection - strong tap selection featuring exclusively swedish craft, whisky selection is a bit ridiculous but who can afford that in stockholm? I was told in a different bar that this place was allegedly the only place in the world to receive and serve from a legit glenfiddich barrel. still, after visiting the likes of akkurat, monks porter house and oliver twist, this is a nice stop but not a must-stop

food - did not try

value - very expensive. everywhere in stockholm is nothing less than very expensive.

This place is more of a whiskey bar but they do have a nice selection of Swedish craft beers so its worth checking out...Atmosphere is nothing special, its nice, new, clean looking inside but very little decorations no tvs. Cool gold deer on the walls like the Glenfiddich sign and the bar is very cool as it has all kinds of whiskey, some incredibly rare on the wall (including a 400euro per cl whiskey)...The beer quality is pretty nice as it has 75% Swedish craft, then 25% american garbage. Not a huge selection though maybe only 20 beers in total...Service was great as the bartender knew her beer very well, picked out a tasting for me, and spent several minutes just shooting the shit with us.

Overall, a must stop to come and see and have a couple Swedish crafts, but not a place to spend more than a couple hours unless you are into whiskey too.

There's something beyond ironic when you're in a bar in Stockholm and they're playing "Sweet Home Alabama" and you grew up there. Alabama that is. All attempts at quippyness aside, this is a real nice spot. And if you want to try some Swedish beers? Well then, definitely worth spending some time at. Food was nice. It's not some crappy hole in the wall bar here. It's clean and a bit refined and caters to those with good taste.

The word out is that this place is more for tourists, but that didn't really bother me. There was plenty of stuff here to try from Swedish breweries and was actually the largest selection of draft Swedish micros I found anywhere. However. There are new owners now and Närke and Dugges are no longer on any lines there, which a lot of local beer lovers seem to be bothered by. (I can see why)

This terrific place is in the beautiful Old Town section of Stockholm (Gamla Stan). They had over a dozen Swedish crafts on draft and 6 or 7 that were very locally brewed. I enjoyed the best bitter I've ever had called Bedaro Bitter. And the IPA (Indianvikins Pale Ale) was spectaculer as well. The food was delicious: a starter of "salmon 3 ways" (all good) and swedish game meatballs (reindeer, elk, venison). The atmosphere was cozy and warm and the bartender (Christopher) really knew his stuff and was a pleasure to talk beer and food with. I will never miss a chance to enjoy this place when I'm in Stockholm.

High End restaurant and scotch bar, with plenty of fine ales on draught. Per Samuelson told me this place has the best selection of Swedish draughts and he's right. They also had some fine bottled beers and a couple vintage offerings. Some rare offerings included vintage Olfabrikken Porter and Islay Cask Stout. I also felt privileged to consume Narke Orebro Bitter on draught. A Finely crafted beer that I didn't see anywhere else. Like everywhere in Stockholm, I found the service to be really great. I did have a bread basket that was also quite good, but I will leave the food unrated since I didn't consume an entrée. The pricing was in line with everywhere else in Stockholm. This is a great place to try some of the best Swedish beers.

Good Scandanavian establishment. Wide selection of Swedish-made beers on tap. I stuck to the porters per Bark's emailed recommendations and found them on the most to be too sweet and not enough other flavours.

Long bar upon entering. About twenty table in the back for larger groups. I showed up before it started getting dark outside (which happened about 400pm) so it wasn't crowded for lunch; may be an issue once the natives start hitting the bars. Service issue was only getting someone to seat me (plenty of open tables) and getting a bill at the end.

The food choices were the best of the bars/restaurants I made it to in Stockholm/Linkoping. The smoked elk carpaccio was heavenly.

I really my stop at the Warehouse and would recommend it to anybody. If you're not into shopping, but other people in your group are, this is a great place to go.

Don't let their name dissuade you, they take their beer seriously here. Their selection of Swedish micros are second to none and my wife and I had a great time with the bartender on the Sunday afternoon we went there. He was very helpful and served his products with pride. Other customers who were there seemed to enjoy his style as well.

There were 24 beers on tap including Hoegaarden, Kilkenny, Guiness, Staropramen and Carlsberg Hof. They also had several Unibroue bottles to offer, as well as a decent selection of Belgians.

We didn't eat the food, but wanted to. The menu does consist of some wild game dishes and are kind of "touristy," I guess, but that isn't always bad. I guess we just went for the option of spending more money on beer as opposed to food.

The Glenfiddish Warehouse No. 68 (previously known as "The Ardbeg Room") do have a unique location in the medieval lanes of Gamla Stan. There are loads and loads of tourists in the area, and the menu is clearly aimed for that audience with dishes like elk, reindeer, smoked fish and Swedish meatballs. And, as you could have guessed by the name, the walls are whitewashed and decorated with empty whisky casks.

On the other hand, they have by far the best selection from the Swedish microbreweries in the country; Nynäshamns, Nerke, Slottskällans, Jämtlands, Helsinge, …

I visited the bar on a peaceful Monday afternoon, but the service disappointed me nevertheless: The bartender seemed more interested in himself than the guests. Maybe the place was too calm?

I want to recommend this beer bar, as you won’t find some of those brews anywhere else. But if you want to eat something “typical Swedish”, have a sausage and mashed potatoes at the neighbour street kitchen instead. In that way, you can afford one more beer. ;)
