Clear deep gold color with white cap and lacing.
Very rich aroma of grain with a definite rye spice with floral, citrusy hops.
Taste is hop forward with a bright zesty hop presence. Hops do overshadow the malt/rye but grain also plays it's part adding a depth of support to the hops. I do pick out the rye spiciness by mid palate that lasts into the finish.
Texture is full with matching carbonation.
The hop presence here is so large that it's easy to overlook the grain at first but grain presence slowly builds and becomes almost equal to hops by the end adding a noticeable grain nutty spiciness in the aftertaste. This is Rye Beer writ large.

Apparently this beer is rare as hen's teeth because the guys were astounded there were even two bottles left when I went to buy them. I guess I got myself a whale.
12 oz bottle, 100+ IBU, 8.9%, "goes well with cake", born on 5/30/18....super hazy honey color with an absolute mess of gorgeous off-white head, destroying my glass beyond any possible reparation, and it looks like a toothpaste war.
The malt bill on this is gorgeous. Tons of bright, honey rye, with a beach aroma, some fresh summer lawn action, honey, toast, orange marmalade.
This beer is insanely huge. It's not polite, it's not fruity, it's not even sweet. The rye punches through rudely giving lots of amber and red notes; following shortly behind is the alcohol power, with heat and slight astringency; grapefruit, tangerine, crunchy toffee and pine all combine at the end. Not much fruitiness but there's wood and slight smokiness. Definitely mandarina bavaria (tangerine) and centennial (dank/smoke), possibly columbus (licorice/leather). Unflinchingly cruel.
Feel is a wall of resin and carbonation, with slight alcohol heat and dryness on the finish, with faint lingering resins.
Overall, this beer will destroy your sanity and sobriety. It's not the tastiest beer around but it would win the jousting match on American Gladiators.
