Pours murky, mahogany in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is big pecan and brown ale. Light bodied, moderate carbonation, slightly sweet. Uggh where is the vanilla. Not bad but not as promised. Give me vanilla please.

Tastes and feels like the regular Southern Pecan, with just subtle hunts of vanilla and slightly sweeter.

Appearance: Pours a clear, amber-tan body with a rather lofty, foamy, off-white head.
Smell: Toasted breadcrust, a bit of perceived nuttiness with a glug of vanilla and lighter, fainted hints of floral hops, esters.
Taste: Softly sweet, subtly malty. Bready, toasty elements, chiefly with a little nuttiness and brown sugar sweetness. Vanilla foam blended in. Very faint floral hop aspects, a bit of background fruitiness. Sweetish, vanilla-hinting, thinning finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: A rather light-leaning, vanilla-kissed amb--er, I mean nearingly-brown brown ale.

Vanilla Pecan has a medium, ivory head and a clear, bubbly, brown appearance, with no lacing. The aroma is of faint vanilla, nut, and white bread crust. The flavor is of vanilla, which takes the lead, with nut and bread crust sneaking in. A touch of sourness and hop bitterness is detected, too. Lazy Magnolia Vanilla Pecan has a low-medium body and a dry finish.

12 oz bottle from brewery, notched March 3rd, 2022, into Bearded Iris Tulip.
Pours a toasted blonde color which forms into a ridiculously appropriate pecan color, with a khaki colored head of 1/2 finger.
Aroma is nearly exactly that of Alesmith's Nut Brown, but with some floral elements. Nutty, baked, and toasted malt, some metallic presence, slight vanilla, and some floral notes.
Flavor brings the vanilla much harder than the taster at the brewery did. Tons of vanilla out front with medium-dark white toast. Drippy caramel sauce. A bit of butteriness. Slight metallic presence, and a floral hop character edge this one out. Lingering nutty sweetness.
Feel is crisp and carbonated, with slight starch remaining, a hint of alcohol heat, and some dryness on the back half.
Overall a tasty spin on the original. Whether I prefer it over the original I can't say, but it's about as good.
Price paid : $2.19 / bottle @ brewery

A very carbonated YooHoo at first sip...more vanilla taste comes through in later sips, no pecan yet. Very light brown ale.

12 oz bottle with a 4 September 2020 bottling date notched on the label. Served in a lager glass where it displayed a fine looking dark reddish-brown body with high clarity and a decent beige head. Minor deduction for limited retention of the head.
Aroma. Mild with more hops and less vanilla than expected.
Flavor. Hops move to the background while vanilla becomes a major but not overdone component.
Feel. Smooth, medium body with medium-light carbonation.

12oz bottled with label notched to indicate 9/4/20 bottling (7 weeks ago) poured into a mug at fridge temp 4.5% ABV. The beer pours bright light brown with mocha colored head. The head recedes to a thin ring and single layer of bubbles. The aroma is faint with some vague sweetness and nuttiness. The taste is semisweet pecans and vanilla with a watered down, toasted malt middle before the moderately bitter finish. The mouthfeel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. There could be a decent amount of diacetyl, but it's hard to tell with the vanilla. Overall, okay.
