12 oz bottle served in a goblet.

This coffee cream stout has the expected essentially opaque and nearly black body topped with a good tan head. Mild, medium-roast coffee notes mingle with notes of dark grains, toast, chocolate and lightly spicy hops.

Overall. A good choice for both style and price point.

Bottle from the Wal Mart in Meridian MS enjoyed at the hotel.
Dark brown with a silky tan head that slowly dissipates. Rich coffee and light chocolate notes with hints of earthy hops to counter.

On draft at 44 Stone. Poured out an opaque, Jet-black color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of coffee, chocolate, toffee and toasted caramel. Nice roasted coffee taste with chocolate and some creaminess.

I initially wanted this beer for it's bottle cap. I have one of those wooden cut-out maps of the United States that holds beer bottle caps. I did not have one from Mississippi!!!! I found this 12 oz bottle at Chip's Beer and Wine in Kill Devil Hills NC. What I got was a pretty decent milk stout. Pours a dense brown color with no light coming through. Produces a medium size dark tan foamy head with somewhat better than average retention. Filmy lace on the glass. Aroma and taste include bready malt, lactose, coffee and a hint of chocolate. Very pleasant flavor, slightly sweet, Mouthfeel is moderately rich, smooth and sweet, A pretty good Milk Stout.

12 oz bottle from brewery floor cooler, bottled on Feb 25th, 2021.
Into Pipeworks Schizo pint glass.

Dark brown, looks perfectly like a doughnut shop coffee. Fingernail of khaki head.

Aroma of coffee bean and dark chocolate, with a hint of creamer and milk chocolate. A hint of horehound or molasses.

Flavor is stale 2-day old coffee, maybe with a cigarette butt put out in it, with badly made chocolate iced doughnut, some molasses, a hint of sour weirdness, and a finish of cocoa powder, powdered vanilla creamer, and roasted malt.

Feel is session stout all the way; a little slick, with lots of carbonation and slight pinching resins. Moderate alcohol heat, pretty noticeable even at 6%.

Overall, a sub-standard coffee stout - nothing to really see here. I know Lazy Magnolia makes shitty beers, but they still have a soft spot in my heart. Perhaps it's because Southern Pecan is one of the best beers you can grab for an evening in the southern summer heat by the pool. Or because I really like the coastal Mississippi area. At any rate, buy a single of this before you commit to a 6 pack.

Very drinkable, it went down quick after a run, but that's not usually what I'm looking for in a stout. Appetizing smell, mild coffee flavor, thin texture.

12oz bottle with notched label indicating a bottle date of 2/25/21 poured into a perfect pint glass at fridge temp 6% ABV. The beer pours very dark brown with chestnut highlights and meager khaki colored head. The head recedes to a thin ring and island of tiny bubbles. The aroma is mild with dark chocolate and roasted malt. The taste is semisweet chocolate with a mild lactose presence and even less coffee. If that sounds condescending, it's not. This is a cream sound gently enhanced with additional flavors. Mild roasty bitterness on the finish. The mouthfeel is medium plus bodied with just less than medium carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, good. I was a bit shocked at first taste, since the bottle features a big cup of coffee in the center of the label. I enjoy a good cream stout so I'm ok with the restrained coffee notes.
