12 oz bottle from brewery floor, notched 9/29/20, into Ellipsis Trophy Glass.
A mostly transparent gold-blonde body, could almost read through it; a solid creamy finger of head, recedes slowly to a ring, leaving very slight lace splotches on the glass.
Aroma is mostly malty and takes some real effort to get a nose on. It brings some hay, slight orange peel, freshly ground malt, and very slight orange blossom.
Flavor is malty as well, disappears quite fast but is perfect on this 100 degree day. Has slight elements of orange peel and honey, with slight caramel malt.
Feel is also here and gone in a blink. Real quick, drinks like water. I'm half done already. Carbonation is not too intense and leans more towards the medium side. No alcohol heat, no dryness, no cling. Real easy, quenching, like a Bud 55.
Overall, I feel like this should have been a 16 oz tall can. It's gone so fast. So yeah it's a shabby beer, but it's working great for me today. If you drink this in a comfortable, air-conditioned living room with all of your creature comforts and a bottle of Bourbon County ready to crack, you're gonna hate this beer. If you're sitting outside in some tolerable yet sticky heat while the sun goes down and it's the first thing you've had since you sat down, it does the trick. The idea here is finding the right occasion for the beer. It works.
