Pours a finger of light brown head (like light brown sugar) over a pitch liquid with very dark red-brown edgings when held to light. Smells sweet fresh dark-roast ground coffee. Chocolate, hazelnut, 'International Cafe' french vanilla coffee, rich sweet caramel. Smells quite inviting.
Tastes rich coffee distracted by an acrid that comes from the coffee combined with overly sharp carbonation. Wet and md-thick in the mouth, but quickly dries out and leaves an astringent sting on the tongue. There is a little bit of chocolate and scorched toffee. Some grassy hop bitter and lemony flavor. Was better after I swirled firmly a bit to release some of the carbonation.
