Just like the creations of a mad scientist, brewing an exceptional beer requires the dynamic blend of art, science, and a touch of crazy innovation. Our team of craft brewers collaborated on this unique red IPA with a recipe bearing the perfect fusion of malt and a mad dose of Amarillo hops. The result, Red Hop Mess — the elusive elixir — a stroke of pure genius with just the right amount of madness.

Bought a six pack of cans. Not bad, but nothing special. The second can didn't get poured into a glass. I opened it, took a drink from the can, set it on the coffee table, and it foamed up and overflowed all over the table. Thinking that someone shook it up as a joke, I hid the other cans in the fridge. The next day, I was careful not to jostle the can, opened it (in the sink) and nothing happened. By the time I walked it over to the couch, it was overflowing everywhere. No wonder it's called Red Hop Mess! If you try this one, make sure you pour it into a glass.

Served from a 12 oz can into glass. A nice reddish amber colour with off white head. Very hoppy aroma and a similar taste although malt is detected. Grassy after taste and decent mouthfeel. Not the best IPA I've ever had but certainly not the worst.

Hazy red colored ale with a tall amber colored head.
Smells woody with lots of malt. Aromatic with a mint scent to it. Citrus hop that mostly smells or oranges.
Starts out malt and hops. Tastes of orange and caramel. Taste doesn't change much as you drink it, a cherry taste does popup. Bitterness is mild.
Mouthfeel is good.
Overall surprisingly good. Can from Ohio that turned up in California.

a decent American ipa, but not one I will be revisiting anytime soon. a fair amount of hops are present, but the malt bill just doesn't do it for me. meh.

This pours a ruddy amber with a slight chill haze. Lives up to its name, as the flavor is a muddled mess. I get a faint, fade hop aroma. Lots of upfront bitterness with candied orange notes, followed by a drying, somewhat metallic and off-putting finish. Comes in a can, no bottle date.

Everything about this beer screams hopped-up Scottish Ale. The malt dominates with rich caramel sweetness, which is what you expect of a Scottish, but is unbecoming of an IPA. I get a touch of hops in the beginning, but the alcohol sugary sweetness cuts right through. Looks like a Scottish, smells like a Scottish, tastes like a Scottish ......not a bad beer, but a very poor IPA
