Enjoyed from the 12 oz can in a pint glass. This nice pilsner pours a clear golden color with a moderate head of white foam that settles to a thin ring, thin pooling layer, and nice lacing. Nose of some light citrus, sweet honey, light bread and cereal grain notes, and subtle floral hops. Flavors follow the nose with a sweet honey touch fresh bread flavor followed by a nice light floral hop note on the back with light cereal grains and light lemon and orange zest. Smooth moth feel, good carbonation, finishes with a lemon and floral hop note. Very nice for the style and solid for a good session. A good brew from a good brewery.
Cheers

I'm not a big fan of pilsners and this beer did nothing to change my mind. I bought a can at my local grocer and would not buy it again as it was too sweet for my tastes.

With the high chores of summer come equally high reward. Understanding the lop-sided character of the season, the Christian Moerlein brewers are doing their part of putting the cosmos back in order with Reel Pilsner.
Brightly stained of straw and pale gold, the beer's appetizing sheen is able to shed a creamy and somewhat arid froth to retain much of the session. Wafts of fresh-baked bread, light honeysuckle and a faint blend of orchard and citrus fruit give the beer an inviting perfume. Its taste is pilsner sweetened with hints of raw cereal grain and light honey on the initial palate.
But across the middle, the bready taste and texture blooms as the beer's more floral and fauna character turns spicy and bitter. As apple, lemon and hints of orange offer an undertow of citrus; these flavors are propped up on the light sulfury yeast action. Its peppery finish balances the fading sweetness and gives a stern but pleasant grassy bite to its final flavors.
Firmly malted but carrying an inherent grain sweetness, the medium-light body of the beer finishes crisp and refreshing with a soft minty and peppery bite with the fruit and leaf aftertaste of lemongrass.
