22 ounce bottle, no dating that I could find on it but I'm pretty sure it was bottled sometime in fall/winter 2016. Served in a DFH snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stuck around a little while. There's also a decent amount of lacing. The brew smells like roasted malt, coffee, dark fruit/berries and bittersweet chocolate. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some burnt/charred malt and earthy/herbal flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. Kinda thin for an RIS. Overall I liked this brew, certainly worth a try! $6.99 a bomber.

Enjoyed from the growler in a snifter via The Party Source.
This contract brew comes to us via the Moerlein Brewing Company
for the Party Source and pours a nice rich blackish brown cola color with a nice head
of light tan foam that subsides to a thick ring, thin layer, and features some very nice lacing.
Nose of chocolate and light coffee with a touch of char and light dark berry notes.
Flavors lightly exceed the nose with light coffee and light cocoa notes touched by
light char and lightly set upon subtle blackberry flavors and a dash of cola.
Complexity improves with warmth and features a nice mouth feel with medium
carbonation and a medium mouth feel that is a touch light for the style with a sweet
cola and cocoa finish.

Overall a nice brew and one to try, especially for the price. A touch light for a
Russian Imperial, but still nice as well as poured by some good people.

Cheers
