Beer purchased in greater Cincinnati area. Was canned in aluminum cans, but the cans had a lager sticker over a plain, non-painted can. Was greeted with Hefe Weizen in all 6 cans upon opening. Instantly became part of the city's sewer system. I'm not sure what Moerlein's operation is doing nowadays, but be forewarned to save receipts if you opt to purchase this. I won't be buying anymore Moerlein's products.

One of my favorite beers from the '90's.
Can't get it locally anymore, unfortunately.
I've been looking for a recipe to clone for a long time.
It's been a while since I had it last, but I remember enjoying it very much and how smooth it was.
One of the best craft lagers I've ever had.

Ok, full disclosure...this was a "left over" from a party in which we had purchased a variety of beverages for our guests...this is never something I would have picked out for myself ... Not my "style".....still, if you like traditional lagers this is very good ... Full of flavor and quality

I tried this at the basement taproom. It poured a clear orangish with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had some grain and hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with tropical fruit grain and bread presence and slight hop bitterness finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its was a decent beer.

Pours a dark clear golden yellow with a one finger frothy white head that dissipates into a thick ring with moderate lacing.
Aroma of sweet malts, biscuit and hints of spice.
Taste starts with a slight citrus bitterness, smooths out with sweet light malt, a very slight hop ending.
Mouth Feel was medium leaning light body, moderate carbonation, smooth with a slight crispness.
Overall an average refreshing beer, not my favorite style, a good yard work beer.

I poured this beer into my tumbler at 45 degrees expecting great things since I had one from them earlier called the Emancipator that was a GREAT beer. Anyway this one was gold in color and smelled like boiled eggs for some reason. The head it poured was gone real fast. Beyond all that though the beer was pretty good tasting actually. I would drink it again.
