Pours a light, cloudy orange. Active fizzy head reduces quickly to a bare covering and crown, but holds there well.
Light, refreshing grain aroma combined with lemon and hop traces. Fades somewhat after the initial sniff but manages to keep some nice aroma throughout.
Lightly grainy taste, some light malts make a very good first impression. Some solid carbonation here, leading to a slight hop character and some clover and lemon notes. Very cool. Lemon rind aftertaste that I find appealing.
Mouthfeel is crisp, light, and clean. Very refreshing.
Perfect summer beer. Light and fruity, easily surpasses Select Lager for Christian Moerlein's best offering.

Acquired via trade. This beer pours a lightly hazy orange/gold color with a very thin eggshell white head. Thin lacing as well. The aroma is citrusy, with some malt and vanilla in the background. Light-bodied and rather crisp, with a tasty combination of citrus (lemon), hops, malt and vanilla again. The finish is tart fruit. Overall this is a nicely drinkable Kolsch from Moerlein.

Medium golden color. Poured with a huge head. Some haze. Mild malt smell with a touch of fruit, lemon perhaps. Nicely balanced beer. Mild hoppiness as well as mild malt. It is what the label claims "mild light bodied golden ale". I prefer my ales a bit more full bodied, but this is a fine example of a light bodied one. Refreshing on a hot day or just after a long day at work.

hazy bright gold in color. pleasant, if a bit non-descript grainy and ale yeast aroma. popcorn and pale malt flavors dominate, if ever so gently. some honey and fruit aspects. light hopping to balance. boring....BUT....this is the quintessetial american summer time ale. not to be really enjoyed in the dead of winter. it actually reminded me of some summer seasonals in profile with it's lemon and honey hints. yes, it's official....a thirst quenching summer quaffer, or as others have said...."lawnmower ale"

Light golden with an ivory head and decent lace. Light malty aroma and taste with no noticeable hop character. Light fruity character at first but malt dominates. Light-medium body. Not bad; just not outstanding when compared to other Kolschs.
Same as Crooked River Kolsch Ale ? I tasted these side by side and they were almost indistinguishable... I'm also pretty sure both brands are owned/brewed by Snyder group.

I loved it. It was a beer that I saw and just had to try. Fantastic German-style Kolsch. Not much of a head, to be expected and that did not bother me in the least! The aroma and taste is all that you should come to expect from a well-crafted German bier! Light in color and crisp on the palate, this one is a keeper. Prost!

Light gold color. A hard pour produced a thick, fizzy head that vanished in seconds. Aroma was sweet, as was the taste at the front. Some corn adjunct-like aspects, and the hops never really got going. Sweetness was fairly well balanced by a tart, astringent finish. The Christian Moerlein line is Schoenling's attempt to appeal to a more upscale consumer segment, but overall the beer retains a macrobrew character. Although it is not a great beer, it is nonetheless pretty drinkable and thirst-quenching. Goes in my lawnmower beer lineup.
