From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This marzen pours a nice
golden with a very nice head of white foam that settles to a thick irng,
thin dusty layer, and sports some excellent lacing. Nose of toasted malts,
light breaded malts, and a sturdy grain backbone. Flavors hit the mark with
caramel malts, toasted malts, breaded malts, bread crust, light herbal hops,
and a nice grain touched finish. Medium mouth feel, medium light carbonation
that is effervescent and refreshing, and a faintly dry finish.
Overall, a solid little marzen
Cheers

Ushering in the fall festival season, Christian Moerlein embraces their Germanic brewing roots with an Oktoberfest beer that's simply a flavor of fall.
Light amber and appearing like honey, the lightly frothy lager flows across the nose with a soft and malty profile of fresh baking bread, lightly crusted, and with floral scents of honeysuckle. A medium sweet taste soon follows with those mild honey, bread crust, nutty and light granola-like maltiness.
As the flavors open up on the middle palate, its floral character fades and the malts dry slightly for a nutty, toasty and pleasant grain taste. The hops offer a spicy balance that takes an edge off of the fledgling sweetness for a crisp, snappy and slightly woodsy bite late on the palate.
With a hay-like finish, the beer is medium bodied and with a carbonated bite that brings a sense of amber ale. Its bubbly texture highlights the hops and the fruit impressions that they bring, getting away from the lager-like smoothness that's expected.
