Purchased and sampled in Yerevan, the clear 1/2 liter bottle bears a black and gold label with info in Armenian and English. There is no discernible ingredient or freshness information.
Pours a clear, slightly greenish gold under a 1/2 finger big bubbled off-white head that fades immediately. The nose is heavy with malt and hints of bad watermelon and cabbage - not enticing. The mouth is light and very prickly. The slightly sweet, slightly malty opening is followed by quite harsh metallic hops. The bitter is strong and insistent, lasting deep into the aftertaste. The taste is too harsh, but not absolutely horrible. Just close.
