Roots Trippel

Pulled from draft into a tall chalice, the Trippel is a clear, light golden orange with a nice white 2 finger that quickly faded to a collar and slight skim but left moderate lace that as very nicely patterned. As nice as it is, it has that distinctly belgian-style micro look too it, that's not easily confused with the real thing, too clear and bright orange.
The aroma is mild and sugary with typical belgian fruit esters.
The Taste is bananas and belgian yeast with a slightly metallic sharpness, keeping it from being sugary, which it's really not at all, at least not in a cloying way. There is a firm bitter finish and a slight tang to the aftertaste, and although this tripel lacks complexity, it's smooth and well balanced, with no hint of the ABV, and generally quite enjoyable.
It has medium, firm body with a moderate amount of carbonation thats very nice.
The last of Roots' 5 Ale's of Winter, they're all highly drinkable and this one is no exception. It goes down way too easily, although the deceptively bitter finish and tangy aftertaste can build a bit on the tongue.

The mouthfeel is moderate, with none of the sryuppiness that afflicts so many tripels. There is a slight tang from the carbonation or hops
