As its name implies, Shark Bite makes a strong first impression. A raw leafiness pervades with a distinctly cannabis finish that tends to expand then linger indefinitely. This raging hop storm has immediate appeal but soon becomes burdensome for its teabag overtones and corresponding astringency. The beer is dark unfiltered topaz with a light carpet of sustained froth.
Shark Bite has an unpolished rawness to it characteristic of other Roots' beers. Call it edgy if you like or crude if you don't.
