Presentation: On tap.
Appearance: Dark burnt caramel in colour with an off white creamy head which coats the glass as it empties.
Smell: Luscious caramel and hints of butterscotch in the nose.
Taste: Rich, sweet and caramel flavours mingle with notes of smokiness, toffee and butterscotch. The spiceyness from the alcohol is distinct as well as a touch of hop bitterness which linger with some more smoke.
Notes: Between the use of peated scotch distillers malt and the extended time in the kettle make this 9% abv brew a very complex sipping scotch ale. Top notch! It will get Ol' Willie goin'!
