On tap at the brewery and only $3 a pint during happy hour, good deal. Aroma was malty and mild hops. Flavor had a twinge of bitter but thus seemed more like a classic pale ale than an American hoppy version. Easy drinking but I liked the ESB better.

Another beer from the legendary woodychandler. Thanks. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a deep golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is kind of mild, a bit of hops. Taste is well balanced hops and malts, just a touch of bitterness, very easy drinking and sessionable. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall, while nothing special, is a solid and enjoyable beer.

Medium sized slightly off white head settles to a quarter inch froth pretty quickly above a clear bright golden copper colored pale ale.
Light citrus fruit hops aroma with a slight nod from some medium roasted malts.
Lightly roasted caramel malts accent the citrus style hops very well in the taste of the beer.
Dryish aftertaste with just a tad of some the hops and malts tastes sticking around with this medium bodied Pug Ryan's beer.
This is a lighter tasting pale ale but still good enough to want another one or two of them.

The Old Lady was like a modern Siren, enticing me to come out and visit her in what I now refer to as CANorado. I made the long journey westward, only to find that my amorous feelings for her were MUCH stronger than her reciprocal feelings for me. Ah, ma coeur! In the meantime, she was a most gracious hostess and a like mind, which made it all the more painful. Towards the end of my visit, I gathered my shopping list and went all over town, gathering and buying CANs like it was my first time. The look on the babe's face when she came down from her place of work to help me stow all of my CAN booty in her vehicle was priceless. She could not believe that I had hauled so much around on public trans by myself nor that my (relatively) small frame could carry it, period. I am like an insect, capable of lifting 1000x my body weight, but I was pretty sore for a few days afterward. This will be my fifth in the wondrous event known as New Beer Sunday (week 445 - Labor Day weekend version).
From the CAN: "pack it in, pack it out"; "recycle"; "six-pack for your back-pack"; "good beer for the outlaw in you"; "Featuring a delicate balance of hops and malts, this amber beer is our own special twist of an Ameri[CAN] pale ale. Named for an installation episode, our brew kettle & mash tun nearly went 'Over the Rail' to the sidewalk below! Over the Rail is brewed and [CAN]ned at 9,156 feet above sea level in Dillon, [CAN]orado."; "'Only with the finest ingredients, only when the beer is perfect.'"
The tab had an old school feel to it, but I am flexible, capable of opening any CAN in my path. Fingers, church keys, pliers, jackhammers, flamethrowers ... Let nothing stand in my way of getting at the precious liquid inside that cylindrical piece of extruded aluminum!
The Crack revealed another brimful CAN and I was anxious to get started, believe it or don't. When I get up a good head of steam, I do not want to quit until my reefer is empty. I had a finger of deep-tan head with decent retention that slowly faded in the face of the crushing humidity. Color was a deep, coppery-amber with NE-quality clarity (SRM = between 13 & 17). Nose was at once minty with hops and biscuit-y with malt, rendering a nice balance between the two. I was starting to feel the effects of day coming on, so I took my first sip to ward off the coming maelstrom. Good idea! Mouthfeel was actually quite full, not quite creamy, but big, like a dollop of beer, rather than a draught. It was nice and minty, like hops mouthwash on the tongue. I was feeling quite mellow and this was like Baby Bear's beer - just right. Finish was likewise mellow. Not too hoppy, but striking a pleasant balance just in time to make me a mellow fellow. I am not going to recommend it over SNPA in a CAN, but if you CAN find it locally, it would be a suitable substitute.

im surprised this hasn't been added yet, since the cans have been around a little while now. pours a light maple syrup to honey color with soda like carbonation and a short lived finger of white head. the nose is sturdy hops and English and American barley. crisp smelling, promising to be refreshing. the flavor is hop forward, but it has a bigger malt body than a lot of American pales. ill credit English caramalt for that, but I could be off a little. there is unfortunately a bit of can taste to this, but oddly it doesn't throw the whole thing off. well rounded finish. strange feel too, it starts really thin and watery, but then after a delay the carbonation catches up and it becomes super fizzy in the mouth. kind of a new experience here, but it is not unpleasant. overall a beer that needs some cleaning up in my opinion, but its shaping up to be a solid American pale ale. the problem is, it just doesn't really stand out to me in this saturated beer market. first pug ryan beer though isn't a let down.
