On tap at Pug Ryan's; poured into a pint glass.
Apperance - soot black with only a hint of light allowed in. Thin tan head that leaves solid lacing!
Smell - vanilla, chocolate covered cherries and a slight coffee essence!
Taste - all the flavors picked up from the nose; though the cherry and coffee dominate.
Feel - light to medium body up front, but the robust flavors of coffee on the finish bring this closer to a heavier stout like feel!
Overall - $3.25/pint at Pug Ryan's and $5.25/bomber (also available at PR's), which is well worth it for such a well crafted stout!

this is the best beer at pug ryans, no doubt about that. its a rich and velvety feeling stout, yet light enough in both alcohol and overall physical complexion to be pretty drinkable. its got a great middle in terms of taste, and thats what separates it, because it certainly looks and feels the part, not differentiating from the crowd in any other area really, except maybe overall quality. the middle has a licorice and wet rolling tobacco complexion thats picked up on by the dark roast of the barley and carried forward quite awhile. the segment finishes out with dried cherry and oak notes, before the normal drying yeast and bitter barley come in, insanely complex for a straight forward little stout from a brewery most people dont know exists. this was the most impressive beer i had there, and the others werent even really close. nice to see a small guy like this get a huge hit, this one is a winner.

Served to me with a nice light brown lacing above a clear dark brown/black colored beer.
Rich malty aroma with a nice dark chocolate coming through.
The dark chocolates come through nicely in a rich malty taste.
A light dryish aftertaste with a bit of the chocolate malt tastes lingering a while with this full bodied stout.
A long drive to find a good beer.
