Enjoyed a pint on-tap while at Rib Eye jack's in Burlington the other night. May have formerly gotten play as Bufcafe Pale Ale, but didn't see a mention of either, so maybe this is brand new.

Appearance - Pours a deep orangy, copper colored beer that is so hazy that hefeweizens look like kristalweizens in comparison. The thought popped into by head was that this was was a melted mango creamsicle might look like if such a thing existed. Topped with a nice finger or so white head, retention wasn't bad and some nice streaks of lacing were left behind. Carbonation impossible to tell by appearance.

Smell - Well this is interesting. Some coffee infused notes up front with a definite creaminiess, more like mocha, but then turns suddenly to a more citrus based, mango, pineapple and grapefruit concoction. And it works too for the most part.

Taste - To be honest pretty much like the nose, a little coffee, mild bitterness up front, more creaminess than your usual pale ale then moving to citrus, mango, pineapple, grapefruit and maybe some lemon, but never really going for bitter, more of a sweet tropical fruit.

Mouthfeel - Ridiculously creamy for a pale ale which sometimes have thin bodies, this is on the heavy side, but the creaminess works with the flavors. Carbonation is medium-high and finishes juicy.

Overall - A really good pale ale (as advertised) that I hope can be canned and sold everywhere. In my opinion better than Headstock and Naughty Neighbor which is a tall task. The canned GLB Lake Effect I had afterwards was very good but not as memorable as this, which is also worthy of note since Lake Effect is a damn good IPA and one of my highest rated IPA's ever. Also, this beer hit me harder than I'd thought, I'm thinking ABV could be a little higher than the advertised 5%. If it appears in stores or you have a chance to visit Rib Eye Jack's I'd certainly give this a shot.
