Pours black. Strong taste of choco-mint-bourbon-oak. Cool retro connection to Willy Wonka. Tastes like an alcoholic chocolate bar. This beer is to be shared

500 ml bottle from the brewery. Served cold into a tulip.
Appearance - Very dark brown, near black in the glass, with a finger of light tan head that fizzles away pretty quick.
Smell - Ominous molasses and roasty notes, bourbon and yes chocolate and especially mint.
Taste - Quite a bit of mint and chocolate fills in the aftertaste. Through that is roasty dark chocolate and woody notes with a healthy dose of bourbon.
Mouthfeel - Thick and slick, huge bodied, modest carbonation with just a little prickle which accentuates the mint breaking through the big bourbon and roasty base.
Overall - Yeah two major thumbs up, I do have a weakness for mint, but this is very well excuted and one of my favorites of the bastard series.
