Medium brown color with tan head. Aroma is dried fruit forward with booze soaked raisins, figs and brown sugar. Taste follows with sweet fruity notes, woody bitterness, whiskey and some toffee. Medium plus body with low carbonation. Really well balanced flavors with good drinkability.

Poured from fridge temp into a snifter. From my experience with Hair of the Dog beers, I expected no carbonation. I was wrong! This pours a nice a nice very dark brown with a respectable amount of tan head. Nose is really nice, with notes of caramel, port, cherries, brown sugar, roasted malts, and honey. Taste is phenomenal, and really unique. I definitely get the Doggie Claws, but with a huge amount of rich toffee and maple. Tastes like a wonderful English barley wine with great notes from the bourbon barrel aging. Dark fruits, figs, maple, brown sugar, and some resin. The hops don't come through nearly as much as with Doggie Claws, but I'm a huge fan of the English barley wine style. Mouthfeel is thick, creamy, and robust. Perfect to me. Overall, I am so glad I picked one of these up, and I am really impressed.
