Combines both Belgian-style quadruple and imperial stout. Sweet and spicy like the first, but roasted and full-bodied like the second. Amarene cherry bourbon barrel-aged version.

Bottled 19-03-2018. Weird yet delicious. Slightly tart but sweet cherries, woody and boozy bourbon, bitter, salty stout all thrown together. And it works! Almost a cherry candy like flavor at first, but without being sticky. It all works, weirdly.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sherry and bourbon with some sweet black chocolate notes is quite awesome. Taste is also a great mix of sweet chocolate notes with some sherry and bourbon notes with light vanilla and residual sugar notes is super enjoyable. Body is full with oily texture and good carbonation with light warming alcohol notes. Fantastic BA stout from De Molen.

Dark brown color with tan head. Aroma has cherry liquor, almond extract, cherry preserve juice and chocolate. Taste is woody with bourbon notes and a light cherry flavor. Roasty bitterness on the finish with lingering bourbon and toffee. Medium body with medium minus carbonation. Quite nice overall, well balanced and tasty.

Black color with a minimal brownish head, aroma of cherry, cherry liquor, bourbon, chocolate, roasted malts and caramel, taste is lightly bitter / medium sweet, full body, soft carbonation, excellent.

Delicious and memorable.
Came across this beer while wandering the Mouffetard street in Paris and came across a craft beer house
Bourbon barrel aged stout- amarenecherry? Intriguing...
Pours from a bottle into tulip glass revealed dark as motor oil with minimal head and scant carbonation. Smell is a lovely blend of vanilla, smoke, leather and cherry with some coffee notes. Taste is sweet cherry blended with bourbon notes of vanilla, wood and hint of leather and unsweetened cocoa transitions to a fairly clean finish with lingering bourbon notes. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied- viscous without being syrupy. Abv well hidden
I was hesitant to try this-but the bourbon notes complemented the cherry and the stout base was still readily apparent. A great beer and one that I will be in the lookout for (and stock up next time I see it)
