I finished off my splurge at the Arendsnest on 20SEP18 with two 0.33l bottles of this , for €9.50 each. From what I could gather, this is a special brew made by De Molen for the owner of the Arendsnest.
It was a nearly opaque, deep amber-garnet hue. Had a thin, bubbly tan head, with light lacework. Nose had solid caramel and toffee; very much like an English barleywine. Body was medium-plus, and it was quite smooth.
Flavor had lots (!) of caramel and toffee, plus a bit of light choco; the malts were quite rich! This was a lovely English BW, and it really hit the spot to finish things up in Amsterdam. Cheers!
