L- Very deep ruby, pours with slight haze and 2mm pale tan head. No surprise at the minimal head, 11.3% and it's surface-tension doesn't support foam retention.
S- Stewed fruits, almost a cider or scrumpy ('country cider') note.
T- BAM! Surely this is aged in wine barrels!? It's pungent but beeriness is fast over-ridden by intense vineous or brandy notes. I glance at the lable ('Help, what is this thing!?'). OoooIC 'Tequila barrel aged & fruits', that makes some sense. Well the tequila seems to do a decent imitation of wine and brandy, it's quite pungent.
F- Intense, deep, quite rich yet balanced by a dry/sour note, fruity, brandyish.
O- Certainly eclectic and different, it's full-on so maybe one for winter-time. Interesting to try but arguably a bit more complex than I'm looking for in a regular purchase.
330ml bottle BB: 01/04/2030. £6.99 from TremblingMadness/York as part of a DIY mixed-case home delivery to London.
