Quite the remarkable hoppy and intense brew with a distinct and assertive clean and spicy Saaz sense.

Presentation: 750 ml corked and caged brown bottle. Standard De Molen Label, text over white background detailing the characteristics of the brew such as bittering hops, EBU's (41), OG (Illegible), bottle number (206 out of a 288), which will be good for five years from the bottling date (3 Jan 2009). Served in a tulip glass.

A - Hazy medium amber pour, with a rich frothy head, good retention, and some patches of lacing.

S - Floral nose, light touches of caramel, grassy touch.

T - Hoppy, resinous, with a light citrus sense woven back with a grassy character.

M - Medium body and carbonation, a bit astringent, with a pungent hint that does not quite punch one out. In fact it is quite pleasing. Quite a clean finish with a creamy touch in the delivery.

D - Rich, long, and memorable.

Notes: Hmmm, imperial pilster? DIPA? Dunno, I'm all over the place on this one, maybe too big of a social event around despite thinking I was paying enough attention. If this is an imperialized pilsner it is without a trace of a doubt the best I've had, on the other hand the hoppy character is so sturdy and characteristic... Top or bottom yeast, I would not mind for an instant having a chance to get another bottle and try to discern the difference. Thank you Toño, what a treat!

I really love the name of this brew and its the first time i have seen it and ive got bottle number 71 out of 288 on the front label it says "bittering hops Saaz as Hopburst Saaz" and at first i thought it could an EIPA but after pouring it and tasting it i know its meant to be an imperial pilsner,it pours a cloudy orange hue with decent carbonation that leaves behind a frothy white two finger head and heaps of lacing, the smell of this brew is very herbal and grassy with some stonefruit coming thru aswell,it has a very pleasant mouthfeel which is perfectly carbonated and has a rather sweet taste about it with tastes of honey, marmalade, lychee and it finishes with a beautiful honey candy moreish taste on the lips with no bitterness whatsoever and ill easily finish this bottle, overall love the name and the brew itself and will buy more of without doubt.
