I will have to agree with the others, this reminds me of Jade and so happens I had a bottle to compare it to. Its about the same abv, but the IBU's are substantially less. The smell wasn't over powering but was nice and hoppy in its own way. Overall I could say this is a lightweight version of Jade, but really to me its not in the same category. One and done, I was hoping to grab a bottle each month but I am late to the game on this one and missed March, maybe leaving it until April has messed with the wow factor, but it wasn't overly bombastic to me. I will say that it was a good beer and not overly boozy but for a buck more I got a bomber of Jade and really, this one doesn't live up to its cousin/sibling. It was a good beer and I love the idea of an IPA per month, keep em coming guys, too bad I missed March, but I will seek out April!

Poured into a Dogfish Spiegelau glass. Bottleneck says 02062014.

A- Pours a medium amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains well before sinking down to a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing cascades down the glass. On the second pour from the bomber, chunks of hops and yeast sediment are present in the body.

S- Bright juicy hop aroma with some grass, pineapple and grapefruit notes and distant malt. Slight booze fume.

T- Very tangy with more tropical fruit notes and a bready aftertaste. A noticeable alcohol presence but it doesn't drag things down. Bitterness is assertive but backs off at the right time.

M- Tight and sharp with medium carbonation and a lightish body.

O- Very good but I kind of feel like I'm drinking Seeing Double or Jade since there's not a whole lot of difference between these beers. They all taste good but are so similar it's almost like they're slightly tweaking each recipe and bottling it as a different beer. Or maybe it's just their house yeast strain, what do I know?

Pale orange-gold color beneath a compact pure-white head. Decent lacing. Smells of perfume-like floral hops, some grainy sweetness, apricot, pulpy orange, melon, and cracked black pepper. More fruity and juicy in the flavor with lemon, grapefruit, ripe fruity sweetness. Lingering peppercorn spice and solid bitterness. The melon-like, green sort of sweetness is similar to the January edition and, again, unlike most IPAs. The sweetness wears on my tongue a bit, but in a fruity kind of way, so it's not bad. A little more than medium bodied and a little dry. About the same level of enjoyability as January. Looking forward to something a bit different in March.

Lovely tangerine orange color. Accidentally poured the whole second half of the bomber and with that has come many chunky floaters in the bottom third off my glass. Head is comprised of tight white foam with occasional larger bubbles especially around the rim. Decent 1/8" retention. Aroma is full of pulpy grapefruit, and some zesty spicy pine. Very happy citrus, juicy and welcomingly fruity. Taste brings a large array of fruity flavors, some pine, and again zesty spice. Nice wholesome bready maltiness cleanly supports the pulpy hop scene. Sweet, candy like, dry for balance, even peppery. Fruit is tropical, citrus, grapefruity as well as orange and lemon, almost orange sherbet like but not so sugary and fake orange in flavor. I enjoy.... Good body and pleasant mouthfeel. Slick, soft, dry and smacky. Overall quite nice and very likable.
