It has a nice molasses color that lets some light through. The nose is lightly sweet and I get raisins and dates. The flavor is also sweet like brown sugar and raisin rum. It is more viscous than I thought it would be but it is a good beer.

Poured ontap at the brewpub in a shaker pint, the beer is a dark, runy tinted brown coloring with a thin halo of off-white head. Aromas of rich caramel, apple, candi sugar, toffee, and roasted overtones. Very nice. Flavors are malty rich forward, with a solid punch of booze in the backbone. Plum, apple, cherry, and date blend for the sweet, with a raisin bread backbone, and some grape must highlights. There are some wine-like nuances in this one. Full bodied and chewy, with a fruitcake sweet and heavy aftertaste on a slick, smooth, heavy linger finish. Very well done.
