No. 07 Pale Ale is marketed by Lidl US as brewed by 638 Brewing Co. I took the liberty of attributing the brewer of this private label ale based on the street address of the company brewpub. I identify this ale as an American-style effort similar in strength (5.5%), color, and balance to many Canadian and US Ales I remember from the seventies. This is a good beer at a great price (less than $7 per six pack) in a style seldom seen any more. More recently the style was well represented by the discontinued Blue Point Pale Ale. The 45F No. 07 bottle was poured into a sham pilsner glass. The beer has a golden body topped by a substantial head that leaves lacing. The flavor is balanced but not complex. It's quenching, leaving a moderate bitter aftertaste. I like this style of ale and No. 07 is a satisfying example that tastes good in December and will be an even better summer drink.
It's June now and #7 has reappeared (at LIDL) after a Covid hiatus. This beer fits in with warm sunny weather. I increased my scores a bit, possibly for the change of season. There is a hop flavor that includes a modern hop flavor up front followed by the moderate bitter aftertaste. This is a satsfying ale.
