638 Brewing Co. (aka Foothills?) brewed this deep amber ale for Lidl. A six pack of this was purchased for $6.49 on Long Island, NY in january, 2020. The beer at about 50F was poured into a simple glass. The aroma is a mild hit of roasted malt. The body is a beautiful deep amber. The tan head is somewhat thin, and fades rapidly. It does leave a trace of lacing. The flavor is a fine example of an amber ale. The tastes of roasted malt and moderate bitterness are well balanced. The aftertaste is lasting and complex. After the caramel notes fade, the hop flavor and bitterness emerge. This is a very good thirst quenching amber ale at a great price. In a world where amber ales and lagers are out of fashion, this one is a good one. I hope this one lasts longer than No. 07 Pale Ale, which disappeared from our Lidl store after a $4.89 close-out sale! As of June, 2020, No 07 has reappeared in Lidl after a Covid pause.
