On tap at the Busy Bee in Raleigh.
Hoppyum is one of my go-to beers in NC. A great interpretation of an IPA. This version takes that beer to new heights.
Deep gold pour into a snifter glass. Faint head and lacing.
The bourbon barrel aging comes through with a hint of bourbon coming off the glass. Hint of citrus as well. All blend together very nicely, but weaker than I would want.
Boubon and hops blend together well in the taste profile, too. Citrus and floral-herbal hops as in the regular Hoppyum. The splash of bourbon flavor just takes this one over the top.
Beer gets a little syrupy towards the bottom of the glass.
A great, great sipper.

On-tap at Busy Bee served in a standard pint glass a crisp dark Orange with a thin diminishing off white head. Aroma is Bourbon and oak in front of pine hops. The taste is pine hops and caramel malts that quickly give way to a strong Bourbon finish. The beer is fairly light bodied, but the Bourbon taste does add a bit to the mouthfeel. This is certainly an interesting beer, one I would have again, but I want to see Seeing Double from these barells next.
