Served on tap at Foothills Brewing Company in Winston-Salem, NC.
A: Pours an opaque very dark brown in color with some light brown highlights and light to moderate amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a quarter finger tall dark beige head that reduces to a small patch of very thin film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of citrus/grapefruit hops with lighter amounts of pine hops and roasted malts.
T: Similar to the smell, the dominant flavor in this beer is that of citrus/grapefruit hops. Along with that, there are lighter notes of pine hops and an even lighter amount of roasted malts. Moderate amounts of bitterness are observed and linger through the finish.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light amounts of dryness in the finish.
O: Very drinkable and very enjoyable - this is a pro-am beer based on the winner of the Charlotte home brew contest modified to produce 15 barrels. Very nice flavors and aromas. Definitely worth the try.
