Served on cask at Foothills Brewing in Winston-Salem, NC
A: Pours a slightly murky deep orange to copper in color with minimal amounts of visible carbonation and some peach highlights. The beer has a very thin (less than 1/8 finger tall) sudsy light beige head that does not really fade very much, leaving just a ring of medium sized bubbles at the edge of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of citrus/tangerines with much lighter notes of caramel malts and honey.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of caramel malts with some light hints of honey sweetness. There is a moderate to strong (and gets stronger as the beer warms up) flavor of citrus/tangerine + tangerine rind and very light amounts of bitterness in the finish which fade quickly.
M: Medium bodied with light amounts of carbonation.
O: I liked this better than the straight up Hoppyum - the tangerine flavors and aromas are truly an enhancement to the beer and the hint of honey sweetness is a nice addition.
