A very sour beer, almost to the point where it stops tasting like a wheat beer and more like a liquefied warhead. That is not necessarily a bad thing if you're into very sour flavours, but do be aware that this beer isn't for everyone.

on tap at the smart bar in Toronto, back in the fall of '15, into a tulip. A little tart, a little fruity (green apples, flowers)...very nicely balanced and flavorful. Very crisp mouthful, even while there is a woody feel that lingers wonderfully. Refreshing and delicious!

Not a lot of head for a wheat, but it looks fine.
Surprisingly there's some strength to the tart aroma, lots of flavour for its weight as well.
Light body has a modest acidity... It really would be a great summer quaff.
Very drinkable, but it definitely punches higher than its weight.

A: Looks like a typical Berliner Weisse, full on haze on a dark straw color with an off white head. Good volume of foam but not a lot of retention or lacing, which is expected for a 3 ABV beer.
S: It's very tart smelling with notes of green apples and lemon juice. There is a light flowery smell that I associate with "craft" honey, very flowery but with a distinct sweetness. Very slight funkiness.
T: Exceptionally refreshing with a very decent sourness and tartness that reminds of lemon juice and green apple skin. There is again the flowery-ness of a good honey but definitely not as much of the sweetness as detected in the smell. Maybe some hay light funk, but again, it's quite light. No malt, no alcohol.
M: Typical German like low ABV feel, perfectly crisp, no stickiness, but definitely not as cloud-like as preferred for this particular genre. A Weihenstephaner like mouthfeel would have been heavenly. This feels more like a lager than a beer brewed with wheat.
O: This is a perfect summer beer. Very refreshing and super low ABV. I know I'm a bit biased towards very low ABV beer but this is just very very good. Highly recommended.

A: A very light, cloudy yellow. one finger of head with moderate retention and decent lacing.
S: Some sourness is evident in the smell. Otherwise, I get some hefe yeast characteristics. Lemon maybe.
T: Pretty potently sour, but still refreshing. A bit of lemon comes through. In the background of the beer weissbier characteristics come through. A bit of banana and maybe some other clovey-like phenolics. There's a bit of sweet malt too to balance out the beer.
F: Crisp and refreshing. Carbonation is brisk.
O: Pretty good beer although something makes me think that this beer was brewed using some kind of of lactic acid rather than using lactobacillus; it just seems to clean with too much acidity. It's still decent though.

Nice sourness in the mouth, a little bit fruity too, really refreshing.
Lots of fuzziness in the mouth, really good drink-ability.

Pours a hazy straw color with a thumb and a half of head that dissipated at a moderate rate. The smell is sour and a little bit of citrus/lemon. The sour is forward on the taste, but not harsh, very nicely done. On the back end you get a nice lemony taste along with a wheat flavor. Carbonation is fairly high, but the feel is quite nice. With an abv of 3% this is a very sessionable beer that would be great on a warm afternoon on the patio or dock.

Bottle: Poured a light pale yellow color Weisse with a nice large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light tart notes with light lemony notes is well balanced and quite enticing. Taste is a nice mix of light tart notes with some lemony notes. Acidic notes are minimal and well balanced overall. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Great session style beer with great balance and great drinkability.
