A - reddy-orange, clear. Nice light tan head, seems to hold up well. Excellent lacing.

S - Rich malt sweetness. That's about it, but it's really good!

T - Unpleasant hop flavour throughout, with some drying roasted malts that seem completely out of place. Cardboard finish. Next to nothing for malt sweetness.

M- Average carbonation. Thin body for a 6.5% beer that is supposed to accent the malt.

D - This flat out does not taste good. I would not want another.

What a let down... it's looks and smells great, but the taste is just wrong.

Thanks to Jpagewatts for the bottle!

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dark brown color lager with a nice light brown head with average retention. Aroma of sweet caramel malt is pretty interesting and more beefed-up then the style would usually suggest. Taste of sweet caramel malt is quite dominating with some subtle bitter hops at the end. Some traces of buts and banana could be felt but were quite subtle. Interesting and better then anything else I have tried form this brewery.

341 mL brown bottle.

Deep ruby beer with a thick tan head that clings to the glass.

Aroma is malty and nutty with some floral hops.

Big malty backbone of toasted, nutty caramel sweetness followed by herbal and floral hop notes with a slight alcoholic bite. Finishes bitter but leaves sugar on the lips. Mouthfeel is full and carbonation is moderate.

Well balanced, although a bit too much hops for the style in my opinion.

Bottle:

Poured a beautiful dark orange-copper with a fluffy mocha colored meringue cap...wonderful lacing of the glass, moderate carbonation.

Great Munich marzen aromas: sweet bready, herbal-woody...on the money here.

Solid malt spine, toasty-bready character with a silky mouth feel and medium-full body.

A big gob full of rich bready sweet Munich malts at the start then the herbal-medicial hops rush the palate to give total balance...herbal-bitter tones...this continues into the wet finish were the hops turn a tad more bitter than is needed in a proper Oktoberfest but it still leaves a pleasant bready-sweet after taste that is in balance with a lingering metallic taste.

A great improvement from their old Fest marzen and very close to style....enjoyable, satisfying and drinkable. One more reason this is becomming my favorite Quebec Micro brewer.
