3/2719...mostly clear copper with some foam ringing the top. Herbal, floral, pine notes. Sharp pine bitter. Minty. Resins and oils throughout. The bitter lingers beyond and chews at you. Nice.

Served on-tap in a 20 oz Shaker style pint glass at The Grizzly Paw brewpub (Canmore, AB).
A: Very hazy-murky dark orange-amber with a short cap of off-white head which left a few thin lines of lace. It looked like a Long Island Iced Tea to me when I got it.
S: Great aroma, very hoppy and fresh all-around profile with pine, grapefruit, orange, passionfruit, and floral aromas on a pretty background-inobtrusive pale bready maltiness. No yeast character and no alcohol detected.
T: Also has a very nice, fresh flavor with a big burst of passionfruit, pineapple, pine, grapefruit, orange, lemon, and floral hoppiness. Maltiness stays background despite the weird color with some breadiness and a mild toasty note. No yeast or alcohol character. Cont'd to taste very good as it warmed. Bitterness was medium to medium-high. 60 IBUs on the chalkboard.
M: Feel was not as crisp and dry as the very good American IPAs are. Body was medium and more in range for a DIPA. Carbonation was medium-low.
O: I was very glad to get a chance to try this after my first excursion to The Grizzly Paw had few highlights which included bland, overpriced beer. Evolution IPA is a big step up from its base offerings -- a clean, fresh IPA that could use a bit more dryness but the hop aroma and flavor are excellent.
