Cask conditioned, Bourbon barrel aged weizenbock (with a name like that I just couldn't resist trying it). Presented in a shaker pint.
Deep dark brown, chestnut highlights. Thin off white head.
The nose is awesome - filled with all sorts of bourbon goodness - especially vanilla & charred oak. Hints of clove hide in the background.
Unfortunately the whole thing breaks down in the flavour department. Too much bourbon, not enough weizenbock. Everything to love about a weizenbock is just steamrolled by the bourbon barrel aging. Medium-full bodied, very gentle carbonation. I don't know exactly how strong this is, but it is plenty strong - definitely a sipping beer. Very unique idea, that somehow falls short.
