Copenhagen 30/1 2018. 50 cl bottle from Den Gamle Købmand. From their After Christmas Sale with 50 % off. Drawing of elderly Santa collapsed in a comfortable chair. Looks kind of exhausted.
Pours hazy dark brown with a red hue and a bubbly off-white head. Settles as a thin patchy layer of foam. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is almost a caricature of Christmas. Quite spicy with cinnamon and cardamom - and hints of anise. Sweet caramel, brown sugar and leather.
Soft carbonation and medium thick palate.
Flavor is fairly sweet but balanced by sharp tart bitterness. Aftertaste is spicy with anise and a little cool ginger. Lingering.
If you like your Christmas beer to be bit heavy and spicy this one will suit you good.

500 ml bottle, from Christmas 2018, bought at Skjold Burne Hjørring in May 2019. ABV is 7.0%. Cloudy brown colour, large off-white head. Aroma of malts, brown sugar, spices and prunes. Fizzy mouthfeel. Moderately sweet flavour, again with notes of malts, brown sugar, spices and dark dried fruits including prunes. Very moderate hops.

From Boxbeers. In Teku glass. Playing Oceanborn. Light bodied, very spicy, with lots of cinnamon. Really christmasty but maybe too unidimensional
