Copenhagen 2/4 2024. 50 cl bottle from Vinspecialisten, Søndergade, Herning. Black label with a tree without leaves in white. Simple and elegant.
Pours opaque dark brown with a small off-white head. Bubbly. Disappears after a few seconds leaving only a thin rim of foam running along the ides of the glass behind. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense and sugary sweet odor mingling with a healthy dose of alcohol. Aroma is dark slightly toasted malts. Brown sugar in abundance toffee and liqueur of the sweet variety.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, kind of flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a light bitter undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry with a distinct touch of alcohol.
Sweet brew which manages to hide its considerable ABV - at least while it's chilled.
