Aarhus 26/7 2020. 50 cl bottle from Vin & Vin, Østergade, Silkeborg. The label is made to look like tartan in red and black.
Pours murky maroon with a medium-sized white head. Settles as 3 cm thick, frothy layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a strong sweet odor. Caramel, toffee and brown sugar. Hints of leather and wet soil.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a toffee touch. Lingers for a while. Semi-dry finish.
I was not aware that they favored caramel bombs in Scotland.
