Summer evening at the café with a glass of hibiscus beer. Refreshing aroma and taste with notes of campari and citrus. Brewed with German yeast, a touch of coriander and orange peel to highlight the special taste of the hibiscus flower.

Silkeborg 21/7 2020. 50 cl bottle from Vin & Vin, Østergade, Silkeborg. Another feature in Grauballe’s western brand this time with a drawing of a mountainous skyline in the sunset on the label.
Pours unclear orange with a big bubbly white head. Settles as thin layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a light sweet fruity odor and stronger sour notes. Sweet malt with some caramel. Some cooked vegetables peeking in. Tart, lightly acidic notes.
Light carbonation. Thin, watery, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a more moderate tart sourness. Aftertaste is sweetish. Lingers for a bit.
Quite sweet and a bit sugary - and with only subdued acidic influence from the hibiscus.
