Seaweed has become a popular food in Denmark, but few people know about Tangøl. However, Grauballe Bryghus has managed to combine the taste of hops and the taste of the sea.
The brewery has entered into a collaboration with Nordic seaweed and brewed a Golden Tangøl and a Dark Tangøl.

Copenhagen 4/12 2017. 50 cl bottle from Vin de Table, Frederikssundsvej, Kbh. NV. Very simple label stating the name, ABV and ingredients of the beer. Which is kind of weird as it is seaweed, wood and smoked malts.
Pours hazy dark brown with a red hue and a dense off-white head. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of fluffy foam. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is is not very strong. A little sweetness, and a little smoke. Salty licorice.
Medium strong carbonation and watery palate.
Flavor is lightly sweet and rather salt for a beer. Medium bitterness lurking in the background. Aftertaste is salt and smoky.
A little watery but interesting with the controlled smoke making sure it does not get too sweet.
