Copenhagen 20/1 2021. 50 cl bottle from Irma, Smedetoften, Kbh. NV. The label is as dark as the beer. Abstract drawing of a field in twilight.
Pours opaque dark brown with a big beige head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, sugary odor mingling with a toasted touch. Caramel, toffee, dark chocolate. Dark roasted malts.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, smooth, soft, viscous texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a light sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
Wholesome and potent. More Stout than Brown Ale.
