Strong brew with rye and honey, aged in whiskey barrels to celebrate the brewery's 15th anniversary.
Brewed to celebrate Herslev Bryghus' 15 years of craftsmanship and local produce. Brewed with rye malt and honey, aged in Stauning Rye Whiskey barrels. The whiskey notes cut through the spicy sweetness of the rye malt, and the nuances are highlighted by the flowers of the honey and the citrus-like bitterness of the Cascade and Magnum hops.

Copenhagen 30/8 2020, 33 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Simple white label separated into quadrants with Herslevs logo, basic information about the beer and some advertisement about how local and interesting the beer is.
Pours opaque maroon with a small off-white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer.
Aroma is fairly intense and very much on the sweet and sugary side. Caramel, white sugar, toffee, honey, dark alcohol. A bit of grainy sourness. Boozy alcohol.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sugary sweetness followed by a moderate sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and laden with alcohol. Lingering. Sweet sugary finish.
The whisky is a bit subdued - but a potent Barley and Rye wine.
