MARK Æble is a fresh and fruity variant of the MARK series. Color like apple, taste and smell of apple. Fresh and straightforward, with fine apple sweetness.
It is brewed with water from our local waterworks, grain and hay from Herslev Bryghus' fields - without the bitterness of hops but instead fermented wild on hay and then added fresh must from Discovery, Katja Balsgård and Filippa from OLSENS plantation, all from a place in Lejre.
A taste of apple with a good sweetness, which is balanced by a fresh acid. Completely without bitterness.

Copenhagen 21/6 2018. 50 cl bottle from SuperBrugsen. White and austere label telling me that apple is an ingredient, that spontaneous fermentation is involved and that it's based on local input.
Pours very hazy milky yellow with a small white head. Settles as a thin patches of foam. No lacing.
Aroma is sour and quite rich. Sweet apple juice, sour tart unripe berries and hints of decay and fermentation. Medium carbonation. Prickly. Thin, watery texture.
Flavor is lightly sweet followed by tart sourness. Not much bitterness present. Aftertaste is sour. Finish is acerbic and fairly dry. Does not last for long.
Interesting concept with the terroir approach to brewing beer. But too thin and watery to be more than mildly interesting.
