Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color ale with a small dark brown bubbly head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma of dry coffee with light roasted malt notes. Taste is a well balanced mix between some roasted malt with notes of dry coffee. Body has an oily texture with low carbonation and a nice creamy texture. Bottle has some age on it but still very drinkable with great notes of coffee.

Bottle obtained from Barley Wine in Copenhagen, then consumed in the hotel. Phenomenal appearence, deep black color wth a dark brown head. Super velvety mouthfeel. Complex and balanced coffee/roast flavor. One of the best coffee porter/stouts that Ive had.

Amazingly this beer has a massive coffee bean aroma. Little else though aorma wise...the faint suggestion of chocolate most good coffee has and a touch of roasted malt, but mostly coffee ad in a good way. Body is flat black with a fluffy, but craggy mocha, two finger thick, head. Acidic coffee flavored fore has creamy notes in the middle, but some metallic notes as well. The cincammon is just a kiss in the finish which is slightly thin overall and retains that slight metallic twinge mixed with some vanilla, bitter burnt malt and a hint of marzipan .
Im starting to get a feel for the Danish approach to porters and it is definitely a little different, flavor wise (which I sometimes like and sometimes dont) and a little thicker palate wise....It just makes me really want to go to Denmark.

Fresh, crisp, smooth porter. Black with white head, thick black serious lace. Soft appropriate carbonation. Fantastic aroma of coffee, chocolate, mollasses, some alcohol. Smooth taste of roast and coffee and good amount of chocolate and molasses and fruity highlights. Great balance, control between sweet and bitter without being either.Pop-top bottle with coffee beans and no English. I don't drink coffee but I liked this. Thanks Madsberg for our second annual trade.
