500ml flip top bottle acquired in trade (thanks!). Bottle labeled BB 12/1/2010 & Produced on 12/13/2005.

Flip top opened to a nice 'Pop'. Poured a dark, dark black color with a smaller sized brown head. Aromas of chocolate, dark fruits, molasses, roast, nuts, and smoke. Tastes of chocolate, nuts, wood, lightly fruity, roast, and smoke. Alcohol content well hidden.

Bottle given to me by the one and only Christian at Olbaren. Thanks a lot, I was really thrilled to secure this bottle. Drinking out of my Olfabrikken liquid holder, it appears black in the glass with a super dark brown head. Not the most expressive nose, just light hints of malty goodness. Impressive viscosity in the mouth feel. Lovely flavor of burnt malts and an astounding flavor of various chocolates. Not the greatest of Christian’s creations, but still a mighty fine brew.

Pours dark gloppy black and at first you think there will be no real head, but at the last second it comes bubbling up and a compressed dark mocha colored head about a pencil thick forms up and fades slowly.

The aroma is rich concentrated dark chocolate and roasty/burnt malt. Some overcooked chocolate cake/brownie notes give it a burnt bready aroma.

Very burnt fore is super bitter with massive dark chocolate and burnt bitterness. A comparitively milder sweetness that is cream accented appears int he middle and it flirts with milk chocolate. Gets a little smokey in the finish, but barely. There are molasses notes in the finish, but it is mild. The acidic burnt bitterness is far and away the dominate flavor element. It’s almost Imperial Stout like in its intensity. Coffee comes out as it warms along with burnt/reduced dark fruits. Very interesting beer.
