Poured on tap. A very dark brown almost black colour, with light brown lacing. Aromas of burnt toasty malts, boozy alcoholic nose, bourbon vanilla, black treacle, and a sticky date cloyness. Tastes exactly like it smells. Heavy bourbon vanilla body throughout, boozy palate, charred toasted malt finish, and a lingering light smoky, dry, vanilla afterpalate. Black treacle metallic notes. Good but not overwhelming carbonation. A whopping little number, good as a dessert beer.

Rating #1000. Whoo! I have been waiting to try this beer for quite awhile now. Pours black with no head at first, followed by a slow rising light tan head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, toffee, nougat, and chocolate cookie malt. Flavor of bitter chocolate and roasted malt. Some metallic notes. This was alright, but the flavors seemed a little dulled. Too bad I won't get to try this a little fresher.

Huge thanks to Nick for the opportunity.
Pours inky black with a decent sized medium tan to pumpkin pie orange head. Some major sediment is evident in the last bit of the pour as well as a nice cake in the bottles bottom.
Aroma is sweet aged maltiness, a brief whiff of sweetness is quickly followed up by a blend of leather, tobacco leaves, salty meat, and a bit of soy. Fairly smoky as well.
.
First sip shows chocolate up front, followed quickly by a large dose of smokiness. The smokiness is at first somewhat acrid, a little dry and bitter, but as the beer warms, it blends very well with the sweet malts. Plenty of leather, some soy, and the chocolate maltiness is there, but takes a back seat.
Medium to heavy body, carbonation is low to medium, very suitable for the flavors and works well to accentuate them. A bit of drying bitterness mixes well to balance with the sweet maltiness.
Very smoky, but it was very enjoyeable imo, if I didn't know it, I would think I was drinking a smoked Adam, not what I expected at all reading chocolate ris, but I prefer what i found to what I was expecting. Very complex flavor and aroma, that is showing its age in a very nice way.

Black, but red around the edges; quickly dissipating beige head. Aromas had chocolate, roastiness, and some sweet lactose also came through. Taste was chocolate-y, yeasty, had some molasses, and was also boozy. Low carbonation and full body. Thanks to iowaherkeye for the sample.

A huge coffee beer. Muddy dark brown. The coffee and chocolate in the nose. Full mouthfeel, and what bitter coffee mouthfeel it is. Alcohol a bit overwhelming. There is chocolate but a sipper than a smooth dinker. Two of us could not finish. Very good for what it is.

Bottle courtesy of thewolf: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a small dirty brown head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of coffee and light roasted malt dominated. Taste was well balance between some dry coffee notes and light black chocolate with some light roasted malt notes. Body had a creamy texture which was quite enjoyable as well as some adequate carbonation. Alcohol was not discernable. While not being blown away by this beer, I really enjoyed the experience and wouldnt mind having this again.

Bottle, served in my Olfabrikken glass. Pours deep black, with a thin, wispy brown head. Delightfully intoxicating aroma, with heavily roasted coffee beans and a trace element of fine dessert, like a chocolate cake. Very distinct Olfabrikken character. Complex, full and concentrated....Its very similar to the Porter. I prefer the Porter slightly, but this is still a great beer in my opinion.

The body is a deep stygian black with a compressed, creamy and lasting, thumb thick mocha head. Lacing clings to the side as you sip. Bitter roast coffee, and dark chocolate leap out in the fore. The middle has a sweeter (though still roasty bitter) creamed coffee flavor and the finish is heavy on cocoa, black coffee, roast/burnt bitterness and a subtle lingering dryness. Like drinking black coffee with dark chocolate and alcohol mixed in.
